Change the World
On Change the World weekend (May 18 & 19, 2013), one of the ministries in which VUMC participated was “Stop Hunger Now.”
The youth room was a hub of activity as a large group of people of all ages (wearing bright red hairnets,) came together to assemble 10,000 meals in around two hours. Efficient assembly lines were formed to put together family size portions of rice, soy, dried vegetables, and packages of vitamin seasoning. They were each weighed, packed in boxes, and made ready to be sent to parts of the world where food is most needed. The sound of the gong marks another 1000 meals prepared.
